This privacy policy explains which personal data is collected and processed when using Ridian Services and for what purposes.

3. Purpose of Data Processing

The Ridian App lets you discover tours from the Ridian Expert Network and plan your own tours. To provide these features, ensure system security, and continuously improve Ridian, we process personal data for the following purposes:

• Providing Ridian features
• Creating and managing the user profile
• Storing and managing your own tours and collections
• Ensuring system security and stability
• Analyzing and improving app usage and performance

4. Personal Data We Process:

4.1 User Profile and Login

Some features of the Ridian platform require a user profile. We process data associated with this user profile, including in particular:

• Name or pseudonym (required during registration)
• E-mail address (required during registration)
• Profile picture
• Connections and interactions with other user profiles
• Creating, sharing, and completing your own and curated tours

A user profile may also be created using a pseudonym.

The personal data associated with your user account is stored until you delete your user account.

4.2 Location Data

4.2.1. Precise Location Data

The Ridian App can determine your precise location in real time using GPS in order to show your current position on the map. This location data is visible only to you and is not shared with other users or third parties. To use live tracking, you must allow the app to access your device’s location services. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the feature will then no longer be available. Location data is processed exclusively and locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

4.2.2. Recorded Tracks

Recorded and imported tracks are stored in your user account.

To ensure the quality, and in particular the safety, of the tour network offered on Ridian, recorded tracks are anonymized and used in the form of heatmaps.

We also provide these anonymized heatmaps to our Ridian Expert Network partners so that they can ensure the safety of the tours you create.

4.2.2. Approximate Location Data

Wherever possible, Ridian uses approximate location data to protect your privacy. For the “nearby” feature and weather information, only approximate location data is sent to Ridian systems. Processing for your precise location takes place exclusively on your device, so this data is not visible externally.

4.3 Community Feature

Ridian allows you to connect with other users. Before connecting, only your username and, if provided, your profile picture are visible to other users. Once connected, you can share your collections (e.g. saved tours) specifically with the people you are connected to.

4.4 Newsletter

When you register for our newsletter, we process the following data:

• E-mail address (required field)
• Name (required field)
• Language (required field)

Processing takes place on Ridian infrastructure in Switzerland. The data is used exclusively to manage the newsletter subscription and send e-mails related to Ridian. You may withdraw your consent at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter using the unsubscribe link in each e-mail. Your data will then be removed from the distribution list and deleted unless statutory retention obligations apply.

4.5 Early Access Program

When you sign up for our Early Access Program, you agree to be automatically added to our newsletter and to receive updates from Ridian. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter and withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter.

4.6 IP Address and Server Logs

Using the Ridian apps or website generates technical data required for network communication. Each time the app or web browser accesses our servers, they receive the following data:

• IP address
• Date and time of the request
• Content of the request
• Access status/HTTP status code
• Amount of data transferred
• Application version
• Mobile phone operating system

This data is stored temporarily to ensure system security and stability and to facilitate error and performance analysis. The IP address is used for investigations in the event of attacks on the network infrastructure or other misuse. Server log files are deleted after 30 days.

5. Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties

No personal data is disclosed to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purposes or for as long as required by law.

7. Data Security

We protect the personal data we store against manipulation, loss, and unauthorized access by third parties. We continuously improve our security measures.

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data and may exercise them at any time. You may send your requests to us by e-mail at info@ridian.pro.

• Access the personal data we store about you
• Correct, supplement, restrict, or delete your personal data (if statutory retention obligations mean we can delete your data only at a later date, it will be restricted in the meantime)
• Delete your user profile or have it deleted
• Withdraw your consent to future data processing
• Transfer your data

If your personal data or profile is restricted or deleted, or if you withdraw consent to data processing, your use of the Ridian App may be limited or no longer possible.
